Step 5B — Teacher Preparation

Onboard and align the instructional team before the five-week program begins.

Teacher preparation aligns the instructional team around the program’s philosophy, student-centered approach, integrated literacy goals and daily operating practices.

The materials below support onboarding, collaboration, relationship-building, instructional planning and staff readiness before Day 1.

Prepare a Team, Not Just Individual Teachers

The program relies on teachers reinforcing one another’s work across reading, writing, oral expression, adventure planning and personal development. Collaboration should be practiced before the program begins.
